Alexander
Hast
(Vocals, Guitar)
Alexander
started playing guitar at the age of 9 and played in high school bands in
the 70’s. He continued
playing in different bands, especially in the mid 80’s when he made his
living subbing for absent musicians and vocalists.
In addition to his guitar playing and singing he also picked up
Bass guitar and keyboard to become more versatile.
In
the early 80’s he played with the Jazz pianist Mojo Davis who became his
mentor and later founded the Mojo Davis Trio, a very well known and widely
acclaimed Jazz formation in Georgia (with Eddie Boyd on saxophone).
In
the 80’s and 90’s he played in several bands – everything from
Oldies to Top 40 and accordingly with a tight gig schedule.
When he came to LA in the late 90’s he joined the German Show
Band "The Bluebirds", and also became a member of the UP
Choir, the church choir of Understanding
Principles for Better Living (founder and Minister Della Reese-Lett). As member of the UP Choir he was blessed to have the
opportunity to sing on the UP Choir CD "Gospel Pearls", and also
share the stage with artists like Billy
Preston, Edwin Hawkins, O.C.
Smith, Della
Reese, The Henleys, Karen Evans and many more.
Thank you GOD!
Currently
he also works as musician/vocalist on different projects in the greater
L.A. area, most of his weekends "belong" to the Bluebirds, though.
