B. Strecker

Scott
B. Strecker was born in Russell Kansas, and started playing trumpet at age six;
he was playing professionally in local polka/country bands by age
thirteen. He graduated with a
bachelor's degree in trumpet performance from Wichita State University in 1986.
In addition to his work with brass quintets, symphonic band, jazz combos,
and jazz bands at the university, he also performed professionally with the
Wichita Symphony Orchestra, local dance bands, and jazz ensembles.
Scott
performed on a major cruise line, before going on the road with Al Pierson and
his Big Band USA which traveled throughout the Midwest.
In 1988, he joined the United States Air Force Band where he was stationed
at Maxwell AFB, Montgomery AL and March AFB, Riverside CA.
While in the Air Force, Scott performed as lead trumpet and featured
soloist in various groups that performed for such events as the
Dedication/Anniversary of Mount Rushmore, the Reagan Library Dedication, and the
Richard Nixon Funeral. Scott
performed on six different Air Force Recordings, including a compact disc
featuring Grammy Award winning artist Arturo Sandoval.
In September of 1994 Scott
separated from the Air Force and has enjoyed an active career as a free lance
musician.
Throughout
his career Scott has performed in such places a Guam, Canada, and Mexico.
He has performed for celebrities such as George Bush, Ronald Reagan,
Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon, Prince Andrew (the Duke of York), Bob
Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Charlton Heston, Jack Lemon, Robert Wagner, Sally
Struthers, John Glenn, Buzz Aldrin, Tom Arnold, and Barbara Eden.
Scott
has performed with the Disneyland Fanfare Trumpet Ensemble and the Jump Jive and
Swing Band at Disneyland. Scott was
selected to lead and perform with the Universal Brass, and the Sting Swing Band
at Universal Studios Hollywood.
He
has worked as a sideline musician on the Pauley Shore Show, three episodes of
the Ally McBeal television show including an episode with KC and the Sunshine
Band, as well as the movies "In the Line of Fire", starring Clint
Eastwood, "Entertaining Angels" (The Dorothy Day Story), "That
Thing You Do", written/directed/starring Tom Hanks, and Walt Disney's
"Fantasia 2000." Scott
has also played on film cues for the movie "Blowfish" and on the
compact disc "Next Generation Swing Vol. 2."
He
has also backed and played with such acts as The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Barry
Manilow, Toni Tennille, Connie Francis, Fred Travelino, The Andrew Sisters, The
Inkspots, Peter Marshall, Harry Babbit, The Modernaires Vocal Group, Barnum and
Bailey Circus, Frankie Randall's "Sinatra's My Way" show, Conti
Candoli from the Tonight Show, Barbra Lynn of Lawrence Welk fame, and Adrienne
Barbeau.
