Wendt

Born
and raised in Indiana, Tim comes from a musical family - both his
grand-father and father played clarinet professionally. After attending
the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (Music Theory major) and Morehead
(KY) State University (Trumpet Performance major), Tim spent seven years
in the United States Air Force band program.
In
1994, he won the Riverside (CA) Community College Concerto Competition,
and has done national tours with Opera a la Carte, The Dallas Brass, John
Tesh, Michael Crawford and Brian Setzer.
Tim
has studied privately with Charlie Davis, William Adams, Ron Stout, Uan
Rasey, and Paul Hilgeman, and is currently Adjutant Faculty at the
University of La Verne (CA).
A
highly versatile trumpet player, Tim's other credits include Principal and
Solo Trumpet in the Crystal Cathedral's "Hour of Power" TV show
Orchestra; Co-Principal Trumpet with the Pacific Brass Ensemble; "One
of the Trumpets" with the Cathedral Brass; the San Bernardino,
Riverside, Redlands and Redlands Bowl Symphony Orchestras; the Buddy
Childers, Bill Holman, Jack Sheldon, Maria Schneider, Kim Richmond, Gerald
Wilson, Chuck Flores and Buddy Collette big bands; Elvis Schoenberg's
"Orchestra Surreal"; more than 90 musicals and operas; more than
750 TV, film, and jingle sessions; and has appeared in films and
television shows as a background musician.
Tim
is a clinician for Warburton Mouthpieces and Kanstul Musical Instruments,
and designed the "ZKT 1500TW" (the Tim Wendt model trumpet) for
Kanstul.
Professional
memberships include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia; the Sigma Pi Fraternity; Local
47, American Federation of Musicians; the International Trumpet Guild; and
the Recording Musicians Association (Los Angeles Chapter). |
